Lake Tahoe

Tahoe BathymetryObjective: To investigate seismic/tsunami hazard
Transects: 4
Duration: 1 month
Dive depth: 150 feet
Travel Distance: 100 miles
ROVs: 1
Support divers: Two external diver stations each with twin 130 cuft cylinders and 20 foot umbilical

Details:

  • SEAMobile submersible
  • Inspection of submersible for invasive species (Asian clams, Milfoil algae, etc.)
  • Training, orientation (Scouting), media/public relations and scientific submersible dives daily (weather and logistics permitting)
  • Survey, discover and map the location of ancient trees
  • Survey, discover and map the location of invasive species i.e. Zebra mussels, milfoil and others)
  • Report all findings to scientific, public and media entities to increase the general knowledge of Lake Tahoe
  • Video survey several earthquake faults within the depth limits of the sub
  • Involve the educational community by performing dives with telemetry umbilical from sub to surface vessel / dock with electronic transfer / broadcast
  • Gather data and images of every aspect of the TAHUV for the production of printed media, Google Ocean MicroDocs and broadcast documentaries.
